This site also makes excellent use of pop-up windows to present property information and provide ease of navigation through a lot of material.  When you visit this site, select one of the properties to see how a smaller window (pop-up) opens to provide easy navigation from one property to the next while keeping the entire list in the background.

Also notice the amount of information and functionality that is built into each pop-up window.  Through each of these windows a visitor can readily see:

The pop-up window also presents a visitor with the following actions that can be taken:

• Send an email to someone that contains a link to the information that the visitor is viewing
• Select another property to view
• Print the window
• Close the window

Pop-ups on this website are dynamically generated from a database of property information.  This information can sometimes change rapidly, so this client was provided with the ability to modify the inventory database whenever changes become necessary.  The changes are reflected immediately on the website.

Pop-up Windows

This term “pop-up” has received a lot of bad press lately.  There is software that can be installed on your computer to “turn off” pop-up windows.  People are starting to have a negative reaction to this term.

To help clear the air, there are two types of pop-up windows.  Generally considered to be the “bad” pop-up is an annoying ad that appears out of nowhere on your computer screen.

The “good” pop-up is one initiated by the visitor, usually to see more detail about some subject matter.
